      <description><![CDATA[I have not seen the 1945 PRC (Producers Releasing Corp.) film, so I can only surmise that one of the songs Martha dubbed for Pamela Blake was &quot;The Cat and the Canary.&quot;

That song received an Academy Award Nomination for Best Song in 1945 and that nomination is, I believe, the only Oscar nomination in ANY category ever received by Poverty Row Studio PRC.  

Winner that year was &quot;It Might As Well Be Spring&quot;.  Also in the running was &quot;Accentuate the Positive.&quot;

I don't believe &quot;The Cat and the Canary&quot; has ever been commercially recorded.]]></description>

Mel later became a sports announcer and for years was the voice of the New York Yankees.]]></description>
